Former Binance US CEO Catherine Coley is still missing and no one seems to be speaking

Around the time Binance.US announced that former Comptroller of the Currency Brian Brooks would be heading the crypto exchange, former CEO Catherine Coley effectively disappeared from the digital world.

Coley, who used to post regular updates on Binance.US and her personal life on her Twitter account, has been inactive on the social media platform since April 19. Her LinkedIn experience ends with her two years as CEO of Binance.US, who she left in June 2021, and her online silence has prompted at least one news outlet to contact San Francisco authorities determine if she had been reported missing – as of October the answer was “no”.

Key figures in the crypto industry also noted Coley’s absence. Ripple’s chief technology officer, David Schwartz, said in July that the former CEO of Binance.US had not done so answered to his messages, but he hadn’t tried to reach her by phone. Sam Fischer, a Binance.US representative, told Cointelegraph that the exchange has no information about Coley “apart from the fact that she has left Binance.US.”

Of course, rumors are circulating on Crypto Twitter speculating that Coley has met an untimely end, is alive and well and is vacationing in Puerto Rico, or is being forced to remain silent due to an unsorted legal matter surrounding her departure from Binance. USA – Cointelegraph has not been able to confirm any of this. One of her last public statements on social media in April reported high traffic on Binance.US, but she also addressed attendees at the LA Blockchain Summit in October 2020.

Curious… Has anyone heard from Catherine Coley? We had a conversation last December before she left but nothing since and I’ve tried. I and others have expressed concern about what happened to her. She also listed her 2 year experience with Ripple. I pray that she is fine.

Before her disappearance, Coley was one of the most prominent names in the crypto space. As a young female leader of a large exchange, she did Forbes Magazine’s 40 under 40 list as an Influential Entrepreneur in 2020.

Cointelegraph reached out to Catherine Coley but received no response at the time of publication.
