Umbria introduces a tool that enables automatic MetaMask configuration for EVM compatible chains

Umbria Network, a staking pool and decentralized exchange (DEX) cross-chain protocol, has announced the launch of a new tool called the Connect Portal.

The tool allows anyone to automatically connect a MetaMask wallet to any Ethereum-like / EVM-compatible chain – including Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum, Avalanche, etc. – almost instantly. This eliminates the need to manually configure RPC connections, which is a cumbersome and technically demanding process.

Anyone who wants to add one or more chains to their MetaMask quickly and easily can simply go to: umbria.network/connect and select the network you want to connect to from the drop-down list. In addition, users can search by network name, local currency, or RPC.

Connect Metamask to other EVM networks.

Once the selection has been made, the MetaMask modal automatically appears and the user simply clicks “Approve” to complete the process. The Connect Portal also provides useful information about the connected chain such as ChainID and a link to the network’s native blockchain explorer.

Likewise, anyone can automatically connect their MetaMask wallet to a network by simply entering a URL in their browser, for example:

  • https://umbria.network/connect/bsc

Then the webpage detects which chain the user is trying to connect to and does all the work.

“This is another example of how Umbria is making it easier for everyone to use DeFi, NFTs and related technologies. The protocol does all of the heavy lifting and eliminates the complicated technical processes that are often an obstacle for so many people to enter the room. The Connect Portal means that nobody has to manually set up a new chain in their MetaMask wallet. It’s also a great way to avoid fraud. “
