Sometimes it can be difficult to find the right straps to secure loads to your vehicle or simply to stow those awkward items. One solution is the new Uni-Tie, a multi-function harness and fastening device that connects any two pieces of 8mm-12mm rope without a knot and offers a load capacity of 1,000 pounds. “So what is a universal lashing system and why did you develop it? I was bored at work for about 2 years and I noticed a scar on my right hand and tried to remember what I had done to get it. I remembered tying some items to the bed of my truck and the strap I was using was very close to the edge of the bed and was difficult to get to. When I tried to tighten it, my hand slipped and one of my knuckles caught between the cargo bed and the ratchet strap, creating a bloody mess.
Now I have a scar to remember that day. I started to wonder why ratchet straps are attached to one end and if there is some way to move the tying device to wherever you want. I put together some old climbing gear and was able to use the concept of a climber to get what you see today. I recruited a friend from both a design and engineering background and together we worked on different designs until we got what you see today! “
