The Morning After: The Latest Unreal Engine Demo Is ‘The Matrix Awakens’

That’s a digital Keanu, and yes, Epic Games’ interactive demos tie in with The Matrix Resurrections feature film landing later this month. On December 9th, The matrix is ​​awakening will be available on your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X / S console ahead of its debut at The Game Awards.

It appears to be a nifty technical demo of Unreal Engine 5, made with the help of Neo et al. shows what the next generation engine is capable of. For most, this is their first chance to see UE5 in action. Epic previewed the engine with a stunning PS5 demo in the middle of last year, but has been largely silent since then. This Thursday’s Game Awards sounds like a good time to show off.

Jong-Hee Han, director of the TV business, has been named vice chairman and co-CEO of the newly merged mobile and consumer electronics businesses. Han will not give up his duties as Head of Visual Display, however, but will run both businesses. Han reportedly has no cellphone experience, but Samsung attributes him a key role in the company that has dominated global TV sales for the past 15 years.

The investigation goes back to a whistleblower complaint from 2019.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating Tesla after a whistleblower complaint alleged the company failed to disclose a variety of security risks related to its rooftop solar panels. According to a Reuters report, the agency confirmed the investigation in a Freedom of Information Act request from Steven Henkes (pictured above), a former Tesla employee.

The investigation follows several years of reports of safety concerns with Tesla’s solar panels. In 2019, Walmart sued the company after its solar panels caused seven bonfires. As the two companies eventually settled, the retailer alleged at the time that Tesla regularly dispatched inspectors who “lacked basic solar training and knowledge.”

Electric aircraft won’t be feasible until the batteries get more powerful and lighter, but hydrogen-powered flight is another way to reduce CO2 emissions from the aviation industry.

The FlyZero project, led by the Aerospace Technology Institute and funded by the UK government, developed a concept for a medium-sized aircraft powered by liquid hydrogen. The plane could fly 279 passengers non-stop from London to San Francisco or from London to Auckland, New Zealand, with a stopover for refueling.

We are still years away from commercial hydrogen planes because there is no refueling infrastructure and hydrogen is more expensive and more difficult to store than conventional kerosene fuel. The FlyZero project plans to release more detailed results early next year.

Instagram has introduced a number of new and experimental features designed to make its app a safer place for teenagers to be in front of Instagram Testimony by Adam Mosseri in the Senate. The previously announced Take a break Feature has now been rolled out in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Now, when a user – especially teenagers – scrolls through Instagram for a long time, the app prompts them to take a break and set reminders for the future.

In March, Instagram is launching tools for parents and guardians to use to see how much time their kids are spending on the app and set time limits.

Adam Mosseri will testify in a series of hearings on protecting children online this week. Instagram and Facebook have come under fire in recent months after whistleblower Frances Haugen told Congress about the impact social networks are having on teens, based on Meta’s own research. Haugen revealed that “an engagement-based ranking on Instagram can move kids from very innocuous topics like healthy recipes … to content that promotes anorexia in no time.”
